My box. I literally cannot stop thinking of CF and Wednesday seems so far away from now….
Signed our family up for a healthy family program that gives discounts for mini golf, bowling, free swimming, sponsored hikes, free passes to family funplex, then at the end of the summer you can win gift cards if you have completed 10 activities. I’m excited about it!
Also signed up for the summer reading program. I am super excited about being an adult and getting rewarded to read!
Rest days… are for the BIRDS!
Im actually kidding. I know that they are essential and lets face it I am still recoverying from CrossFit excursion on Wednesday, and my 3 mile slow recovery run yesterday. The upside I am no longer walking around like an OLD person, and I can not scoop ice cream out of the container because my pecs hurt too bad.
I will be finishing my foundations classes next Wed/Thurs and then I will go to my first Group WOD on Saturday. So my work outs next week look like this:
Monday- Rest
Tuesday- 3 miles
Wednesday 4 miles before Crossfit-Crossfit Foundations 2 @7:30pm (timing sucks but ill deal with it)
Thursday- 3 miles Recovery- Crossfit Foundations 3@7:30pm
Friday- Rest
Saturday- 5 miles before Crossfit @ 9am.
I took progress pictures yesterday so I can see how my body changes with Crossfit. I’m pretty excited. After looking at the pictures from 7 months ago to now even though there isn’t much over 5lbs difference my whole body has changed, and I am super proud of that. Just keep pushing towards change even if the scale doesn’t move much.
Putting in the Big M’s!
I am finishing my month with 65 miles! I have not skipped on marathon training day. It holds me more accountable then anything.
I didn’t wanna run today but Brooksy suggested I jog for recovery to move all the lactic acid out of my incredibly sore quads. ( crossfit why you hurt so good?!) so I jogged and watched Mad Men on Netflix 3mi/36 minutes.
Felt awesome. :) more awesome that in 30 days I have ran 65 miles! That’s from my house to Denver…ya buddy!
DOMS
Serious DOMS going on from “what in my head seemed like an easy workout just working on form crossfit introduction”
Seriously I feel like I’ve never worked out before yesterday! I’m in for a good change to my normal workout life!
I have 3 miles to run today. Might get pushed till tomorrow but we will see how I feel this afternoon.
Class this morning and I’m still nervous about it. I feel like everything in my life is right where it needs to be.
Some exciting news might be on the horizon but I’m not talking about it till I know for sure.
Competitive?
If you would have asked me if I was a competitive person I would have just laughed and stated “only with myself” but today during crossfit workout I learned that I truly deep down wanted to beat the other person. So here’s how my first day went…
Walked in and met two coaches of 4. There was me and one other lady. All of them are on our local fire department. I think it’s so awesome that they brought crossfit to improve the lives of people in our community.
He went over what crossfit is and the principals which I found interesting. They are very focused on technique which I was worried they wouldn’t be. Touched lightly on paleo but wasn’t harped on. I am considering making some changes.
Then we went to work and learned squats (which I was doing wrong all this time) shoulder press, push press (which I got good praises on) and jerks. The jerks were the hardest for sure.
Then we did a 7 min AMRAP of 7 box jumps (I did step ups), 7 burpees (such hate for them), and 7 thrusters with 14# ball. I fell behind the other lady at first, but caught and passed her by round 2. I finished with 4 rounds. It felt harder then running 5-6 miles and was only 7 minutes!
I drank the kool aid and am Hooked.I’ll go back next week for the rest of my foundations classes.
I ran 1.25 miles of my 3 scheduled. I just couldn’t treadmill any longer. Now I study for my online class. :)
Crossfit starts in 2 hours and I dont feel ready for it… Ha.
I was told yesterday “you should be nervous.”
I’m going to burry my nose in my academic book and take notes to keep my mind off of it. I also have to run 3 miles today.
Boom. Watch time:1:07:47; shoe time: 1:08:51
BolderBoulder 10k is a race of it own. Love it.
Beat last years time by 12 minutes
The Brooksy II. - run 1/2 mile, 10 body weight squats, 10 push ups. For a total of 3 miles.
3 mile time 33:48/ full workout time 37:10 (included water) Burned 456 calories.
I feel badass… I also spent the morning building a deck… I need a shower.
BolderBoulder 2 days. Tomorrow I prep and plan.
YAY! Crossfit coming to town!
Ok so we live out in the country the closest town to us is about 7 minutes away. There is a nearby town that is a lot larger that is about 20-30 minutes away from the nearest crossfit place….
Tonight we were leaving the local gas station and I looked up and said.. “WHAT DOES THAT SIGN SAY?!” sure enough… it says “Crossfit Endure” I immediately googled it and found out that its a new place! I quickly emailed the coaches to let them know that I was interested and wanted to know as soon as I could get into a class…
Welp. Foundations 1- FREE. Wednesday at 9am. I’m drinking the kool aid and I blame Brooksy.
I’ve spent the last few days trying to figure out what gym is right for me and its been sucky. My heart wants crossfit (I think, ha) but that wasn’t an option till now… its getting real folks. I hope its something that I fall in love with.
Its pretty cool that the coaches are local firefighters too…
Today was redemption day for yesterday. I don’t wanna talk about yesterday but it was bad and the most cathartic part of it all happened while I was weeding our garden….
Anyway today I woke up vowing to kick ass and I did! 3 miles /38 minutes while reading on the treadmill before kids were up. Then I got them all squared away and vacuumed and did dishes. I decided I wanted to do little more hoping for a total of 5 miles for the day. So I put my music on and ran .25 miles then did 25 #10kb swings for a total of 2 mile and 200 swings!
I feel amazing!
